teachin' school

first day of a brand new school year!

here are some picks from my room.  it’s all ready for the first day!  as usual, i have butterflies in my tummy.  the first day is full of possibilities.  it sets the tone for the rest of the year.  plus, you get to see all the kids kind of dressed up, hopefully on their best behavior, and actually excited for school.  all that stuff will fade, but the first day is special.

this year, i’ll be teaching kids that i have already taught for the most part. that’s always a little strange because they might remember you in a certain way. i am pretty strict on my rules but i’m not afraid to have fun with them. so the kids usually remember me in those two ways. also, i’ve had three years with some of them without teaching them but still interacting with them. so those kids may think they can joke around with me too much. i’ll have to squash that…at least in the beginning.

i had this room last year but i changed quite a few things.  i hate that it doesn’t have a window so that’s kind of why i have so much crap on my walls.  and i’m still going to add some stuff!

so here it is!
