with the holidays coming up, i want to go into them feeling healthy and confident about my choices. i know i’m going to want to inhale me some turkey dinner and then go “h.a.m.” on the ham at christmas. so i’m getting prepared for my unhealthy choices by being really diligent until then.
this week, i am mostly eating “clean”. for like the first time on purpose. i’m still having some cravings but so far, so good. i don’t expect to not make mistakes, but i’m confident in what i’m doing for the next few weeks.
this week, i’m eating steamed veggies, grilled chicken and fish, fresh fruit, hard-boiled eggs, and more. i know i’m going to get bored so i’m going to have to pull in some different fruits near the end of the week.
meal planning has really helped me in all this. i’ve always been one to be organized. but this is a whole new level. my fridge is full of food in individual serving sizes for me to mix and match. it makes it super easy. i don’t know why i didn’t do this before. it did take some time to set everything up though. i went to the grocery store on saturday night and then spent about two hours on sunday fixing everything. i think it’ll be easier next week because i’ll have an idea of what i want to do.
i’ve been stepping up my workouts too. unfortunately, i’ve got minor injuries all up my left side…weak wrist (that’s been going on for awhile and i have to modify some exercises for it with a chair), tweaked knee, and sore hip. i don’t know if it’s because my left side is a little weaker than my right or what. it’s not debilitating or anything, just kind of annoying. i recently tried the following workout this weekend. it’s an hour-long mash-up from fitness blender. if you can get past the first 16 minutes of HIIT, you can do the rest! i promise! it might be my new saturday workout! (although…play music in the background or it’s totally boring and you can hear yourself sucking wind the whole time.)
