(ONE) i’m not a huge country fan, but i did watch the country music awards. carrie and brad were cracking me up with their corny jokes. i love miranda lambert, blake shelton, and kacey musgraves. i’m so glad they won! and can we talk about george strait and alan jackson for a minute! holy crap… still total hotties after all these years. and their song together brought tears to my eyes. i do like some “new country”, but where’s the good music like that anymore?
(2) i made some “that’s how i rolo snickerdoodles” today for cooking club. (click here for the recipe i used. the dorky name is of course mine.) it’s the last six week, which means stress and paperwork so i needed a distraction. i’m going try and only have one…or three. 🙂
(three) great workouts AND great meals this week! i finally got it all aligned and it feels great! i haven’t lost anything yet, but i feel strong and healthy.
(4) my school’s cross country team is headed to austin today! they won district for the 33rd time in a row (yeah, you read that right – they’re badass every year due to it being an “individual sport” versus a team sport, which is harder for these at-risk kids. that and the fact that they’re training every single day running around the hills and valleys in the country of the Texas Panhandle equal success!) and then went on to win regionals too. they came close to winning state last year so we are hoping for first this year. i’m so proud of those boys! they asked for some chocolate chip pumpkin bread for the road trip. i obliged, of course. and i didn’t even sneak a slice!
(FIVE) i made a big decision this week. kind of a turning point as it will be affecting the rest of my life most likely. i’m taking the first steps toward it next week. i feel good about it, but it’s also a little scary. the excitement covers that though most of the time.
