WOW 1.29 – hybrid or mash-up workouts

this week is going really well.  i had a little too much to eat (and drink, let’s be honest here) this weekend.  but starting on sunday, i went right back to it.  i’m surprisingly focused right now.  i’m not really sure why, but i am encouraged by it.  i think part of it is that i’m getting strong again.  not much actual weight loss happening, but i KNOW that i’m doing the right things.  i’m taking my measurements on saturday.  i’m so curious about how much progress, if any, i’ve made this month.  the scale is still talking to me, but i’m more interested in the inches now.

so anyway…i love mash-ups.  i get bored easily with my workouts so having some variety is necessary to keep me interested and working hard.  i haven’t been doing as much kickboxing lately, but this fitness blender workout got me back into it.  it is 38 minutes long, which is a great length for a weeknight.  it contains a mix of kickboxing and HIIT circuits.  i hate love HIIT.  it is super effective.  i like to do it several times a week no matter how much i hate burpees.  the kickboxing in this video gets your heart rate up and the HIIT sends you over the edge.  a warm-up and cool down are included.  i’ve done this one several times, and i love it.

*by the way, the guys at fitness blender are doing a new video every day in january.  i’ve been loving trying out some new things.  i haven’t found one i didn’t like!

{note: skinny meg is taking a well-deserved break.  that girl has been rocking her way though her pregnancy and inspiring us all, but now it’s time for some maternity leave from WOW for her.  but i’m just going to try to keep up with my own WOW posts to keep myself accountable and reflective on how i’m doing!}
