WOW 2.12 – HIIT and strength workout

my squat challenge is going great.  i haven’t cheated on even one!  i try to do them before my workout so that i know i won’t be too tired to do them.  by the end of february, my ass is going to be in shape whether it wants to be or not!

i’m doing really well on my food lately.  like i’ve been saying, i’m motivated for some reason.  i’m gonna demolish my february goals.  i’m learning a ton from my “slim for life” book.  i read a little bit each evening.  it helps me refocus for the next day.

i recently decided i needed to get some new weights.  i’ve been working with 8s, 5s, and 3s for awhile.  i can’t believe i started with 3s last year.  that’s just insane to look back on!  3s don’t feel like anything now.  progress not perfection!  so i dropped by target on friday (which tends to happen when i have free time) and i moseyed on by exercise section.  these babies were calling my name – “taylor, you need me!  then you can stop making an excuse  to not use heavier weights!”  the 10 lb weights won my internal argument and got to come home with me.  i promptly KILLED my arms.  and it felt amazing!  and pretty sore the next day.  🙂

so this 35 minute fitness blender workout is a combo of all over strength moves and a little HIIT.  your heart rate will be up for nearly the whole thing.  this is a great, quick workout.  it’s perfect for mid-week or weekend.  a warm-up and a good long cool down are included.  i’ve done this one several times in the past couple of weeks.  i like that it includes the HIIT sections (because i’m kind of obsessed with it), but the strength portions are the main show.

{note: skinny meg is taking a well-deserved break.  that girl has been rocking her way though her pregnancy and inspiring us all, but now it’s time for some maternity leave from WOW for her.  but i’m just going to try to keep up with my own WOW posts to keep myself accountable and reflective on how i’m doing!}

  1. Yeah! Congrats on the step up to 10s. I have not started back working out like I used to, but you motivated me (and luckily, it’s sunny in North Texas today) I took the dogs for a walk at White Rock earlier, and now I’m thinking i want to try this workout you posted. Thank you!
