9•18 | high five for friday!

H54F with a tattooed teacher in texas

i spent this past saturday at my family’s art show. y’all…my family is crazy talented. i didn’t get much of it, but i’m in awe of what they can do. the exhibit is in my mama’s hometown, and it features paintings, drawings, quilts, calligraphy, and more from my grandparents, uncle, aunt, and mama. it was so fun to see things that i had never seen before and talk to people about their memories of my nonnie and granddad.

i have no idea what’s happening. someone said, “quick pose” and this is what occurred.

i had great workouts this week!  i’m back into my routine…finally!  i actually got up early (and we’re talking 4:30 am, people!) and worked out on some days just to get it over with.  like that attitude?  it seemed to work.  i swam a few days too.  i’m so so soooooo sore, but it was worth it to jolt myself back into a good routine.

happy birthday to my friend kat!  this is one of my favorite pictures of us from the past year.  it was at a turnpike troubadours concert.  we found $80 on the ground and decided to give ourselves a great night for free!  we were lucky that night, but i’m lucky to have her all the time.  (too corny, i know…)

school has been so great so far.  we are finishing up week four today.  yes, there have been challenges, but nothing i can’t handle.  i’m settling into my new position as the 21st century learning coach and have my first meeting with my superintendent to discuss my progress next week.  i’m still excited to teach each day, and the new hasn’t worn off for the kids yet.   just another hundred and some odd days to go!  🙂

we got some new shirts for the new school year!

i didn’t do a thursday’s thought post this week, but i ran across this quote and it really resonated with me.

  1. Congrats on your position as a new century teacher! That is cool. In NC we have New School reps in some schools but not all. Love the bestie mention – how awesome would it be to find $80 dude, I would be excited! The quote rocks too, I ran across one similar to that last week and was like – nail on head! xo Amanda
