1•22 | high five for friday!

H54F from tattooedteacherintexas.com

miranda lambert played this song this week, and it made me bawl my eyes out.  it’s called “scars”.  i hope she puts it on her new record.  what a beautiful song.

this was my first week of grad school.  i don’t know what i expected, but after looking at the syllabus, it’s going to be a LOT of work.  i’m up for the challenge, but i’m also kind of nervous because this semester is going to be cray-cray.

i got a new computer!  i’ve been thinking about ordering an iMac forever but i have my macbook pro and didn’t think i really needed it.  but my macbook is getting older and running slower (aren’t we all?) and i had some money saved up so i bit the bullet.  i’m in love with the sleekness and the giant screen!

a few years ago, i went to memphis and visited the national civil rights museum where MLK spent his last hours.  it was a very moving experience for me.  but when i saw this earlier this week for MLK day, it made me laugh.  it’s funny but so true.

for the record, there are 84 days left in my school year.  it will be a race to the finish!  this has been a good year so far, but it’s not been without its challenges.  there are so many new things that i’m discovering even now that it’s still somehow exciting.
