seriously, how do you get paint out of your hair??? i’ve cut it out, pulled it out, everything. and i’m still finding little white strands…
so i officially moved in about a week ago. it was after three days of scraping, taping, painting, cleaning, assembling, and yes, crying. i only broke down once and it was on the last day and mostly to myself.
luckily, my sister and daddy came up and helped me for three days straight and almost around the clock (hence the day 3 breakdown). turns out my dad is kind of a slave driver when asked to be and i’m a super hard worker when motivated. i.e. we are all exhausted. but man, we got so much done! it looks great! i will be forever grateful for their help and my daddy’s home improvement lessons.
there was a slight problem, two actually. one was that i hated the color that i originally picked for my living room. i knew it was wrong once i saw it on the walls and threw a hissy fit, jumped in the car, went to the OTHER lowe’s (to avoid the embarrassment), and got two new cans of a shade darker. then it was perfect. see below. to make use of the lighter shade, i used it in the guest bathroom, laundry room, and little hallway. i felt like a dumbass but i refused to settle for something i didn’t want. the other problem was that the wiring in my house is kooky. i knew this from the inspector. but then i really knew it when my dad shocked himself no less than five times while trying to install one ceiling fan in my bedroom for five hours. a youtube video later and some serious patience (which is not my family’s strong suit) …we got it working!
there are more coming, but here are a couple update pics:
