teaching tip 67. use your f@&!-it bucket as needed. 

this one is a quick one…

if it’s not working, chunk if in the fuck-it bucket.  this applies to classroom management techniques, lesson plans, room arrangement, your mentor, etc.  do what you gotta do to make it work for you whether that means adaptation, abandonment, or pressing pause for a little while.

BUT, don’t give up if you really believe in it. if you see hope in it and a future with it working, keep it around! just change it.

keep as much consistency as you can in the situation. you may do more damage than you intend to.  be conscious of the effects of your actions.

don’t be afraid to ask around for advice.  some person’s advice and experience may be the missing piece. 

move on to something new and better when you need to. trust your gut. and trust the power of the fuck-it bucket and jump into the unknown.
