true crime

6•12 | murderino monday

i know i can’t get too far into this series without talking about that sweet baby angel, jon benet ramsey.  when she died in 1996, i was twelve, which is a ripe age to cultivate your murderino self.  the story was so confusing to me at the time, and really it was for everyone.  it was complicated and strange with no real answers.

and here we are 20 years later and it’s still a mystery.  i’m not going to go into the story itself.  if you want more details, google it.  there’s PLENTY of articles from then to now that cover all the aspects of the case.

here’s my theory (because everyone has one!): burke killed her.  i think he meant to hurt her (i mean, have you seen the police station questioning tapes?!) but i’m not sure if he meant to kill her.  her death may have been an accident.  the assault was on purpose though.  then the parents discovered what happened and covered it up.  they had already lost one kid and couldn’t lose another.

patsy obviously wrote the ransom note.  the rest of the coverup was just as sloppy.  and don’t get me started on the investigation fuck-ups!  there’s still enough unanswered questions to make it unsolve-able.  yes, i’m making up that word.  this case just requires it.

people often forget about the little girl involved.  they focus more on the circus.  but she was just a six year old girl.  she didn’t deserve to be robbed of her life and discarded like trash in the basement.  she was a person.  she deserved better during her life and after her death.  but she didn’t get justice.  and i’m pretty sure she won’t ever get it, which is the saddest part of this story.

as always, stay sexy and don’t get murdered.
